Shiv Sena party name, election symbol for Shinde division

by time news

New Delhi,

In Maharashtra, Shiv Sena, Nationalist Congress and Congress parties were ruling together. In this case, senior minister Eknath Shinde turned his support MLAs against his party. He drew MLAs to his side and took power in the state along with the BJP.

The Shinde side then claimed the Shiv Sena party name and the bow and arrow symbol of the party. Shinde demanded that the majority of MPs and MLAs of the party be allocated to his team as he is on his side. He also submitted a letter to the Election Commission.

Uddhav Thackeray’s side protested this and argued to the Election Commission that they are the real Shiv Sena. The Election Commission considered the bilateral explanations, documents and party rules.

Election Commission of India has ordered to give Shiv Sena name and election symbol to Maratha Chief Minister Eknath Shinde’s unit. The Election Commission of India rejected the request made by the Uddhav Thackeray faction to give Shiv Sena name and election symbol.

In this situation, Uddhav Thackeray has said that he will appeal to the Supreme Court against the decision of the Election Commission which recognized Eknath Shinde’s party as a Shiv Sena party. We are hopeful that the Supreme Court will accept our request and order the disqualification of 16 MLAs and have already said that the Election Commission should not take a decision before the verdict of the Supreme Court.

If decisions are made on the basis of MLAs and MPs, can a businessman buy them and become the Chief Minister? Uddhav Thackeray has questioned.
