New Delhi: The countdown for T20 World Cup has started. As the date of June 2 is coming closer, the heartbeats are also increasing. Meanwhile, the biggest question is who will be able to make a place in India’s 15 member squad. Although there are many contenders for every position, but more or less the selectors have got answers to all their questions, but the slots over which there is the most debate are still for the finishers. That means lower batting order. There is a problem with Rinku Singh and Shivam Dubey.
In such a situation, if both Shivam Dubey and Rinku Singh are to be taken to the T20 World Cup, then the selectors will have to keep out a backup wicketkeeper or a backup bowler. There will probably be a tough contest here between Rinku and a back-up fast bowler. If any of the top-4 batsmen had been able to bowl or keep wickets, it would have helped a lot, but India is stuck in the top order.
The only way to accommodate the power-hitters in the team is to drop one or two of the top four, but Rohit Sharma was confirmed as captain by BCCI secretary Jay Shah earlier this year. It is believed that Rohit has made a special request to include Kohli in the team. Anyway, it will be very difficult for the selectors to choose one of the two and exclude the other. Yashasvi Jaiswal is the only left-handed option in the top order and Suryakumar is among the best T20 batsmen in the world.
India’s probable T20 World Cup team

- Other contenders: KL Rahul, Yuzvendra Chahal, Ravi Bishnoi, Sandeep Sharma
