Shock and amazement: the owner of the restaurant admitted that he sold venison

In a new statement on behalf of the OK kashrut organization in the USA, it was reported that the owner of the Chinese restaurant sold venison on purpose to his Jewish customers.

The owner of a kosher Chinese restaurant in New Jersey, USA, sold venison on purpose to his customers. The owner was investigated by the rabbis of the OK kosher organization, after which the owner decided to permanently close the “Kosher Chinese Express” restaurant, after his reputation was publicly revealed.

The Chinese restaurant lost its kosher certificate last week after the owner was recorded buying non-kosher meat and poultry at a nearby store. The OK kashrut organization called on customers to qualify the tools. The owner (non-Jewish) claimed in his defense that he purchased the goods for another store he owned, but was forced to close the restaurant.

The OK Kosher organization has launched a comprehensive investigation into the events at the restaurant in Manalapan, New Jersey. “The Kosher Chinese Express restaurant intentionally violated its duty to the consumer, even though there were several supervisors for this restaurant.”

It was also stated that “these supervisors were the only people who had keys to the restaurant, refrigerators and freezers. A video of the owner buying non-kosher chicken and meat in bulk reached OK, the restaurant was immediately closed, and it was determined that these products were not brought into the restaurant and the owner of the restaurant was approved to continue selling.”

But a few days later, empty boxes of non-kosher chicken and meat (a different brand from the original video) were discovered by OK Rabbis in one of the public bins in the commercial center where the restaurant is located. The owners of the neighboring restaurants were asked if it was theirs, and it turned out that the boxes were not theirs, and they did not use the products that were originally in these packages. At this point, the owner was informed that the restaurant will remain closed until further notice.

On behalf of the OK Kosher organization, it was further stated that “the owner was interrogated by OK rabbis regarding the boxes in the tin. After that, the owner decided to permanently close “Kosher Chinese Express”, when he actually admitted to bringing venison, later we received a verbal confession that he brought chicken and meat Not kosher in small quantities over a long period of time. We found no physical evidence of this, but it seems that the products somehow sneaked in during business hours.” The owner verbally admitted that he brought the non-kosher items starting with the nationwide chicken shortage in March 2022. This was reported on the Yeshiva world news website.

To recall, as reported in ‘Orthodox rooms’, the OK Kosher organization revoked the kosher certificate of the “Kosher Chinese Express” restaurant in Manalapan, New Jersey. In a statement, the OK Kosher training organization said that “after an intensive and thorough investigation of the allegations, it was determined that they should stop supervising the popular restaurant,” and announced that the restaurant is no longer active.

“In consultation with arbitrators, it is recommended that customers of Sinait Express who purchased their products in the last 6 months and use them, qualify these tools. Please contact your rabbi for further guidance and instructions,” the message said.
