Aurur Das (91) has written the dialogues for 1000 movies starring leading actors and actresses in Tamil cinema. He passed away yesterday due to old age at his residence in D. Nagar. Film celebrities and political figures are condoling his death. Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Stalin expressed his condolences. “I am deeply saddened to know that the great storyteller Aurur Das, who wrote the story, screenplay and dialogues for a thousand movies born in the land of Thiruvarur, has left a unique mark in the world of cinema. He has passed away due to old age. Deepest condolences on his demise. Last June 3rd, I visited Auroor Das’s residence and presented the artist memorial Kalaithura Vidhakar Award named after Muthamizharinagar artist to the lifetime achievers of Tamil film industry.

After that, Arurdas was the one who made the land of his birth proud by adding the name Aurur Das after his native name Esudas to his hometown Thiruvaru. He wrote screenplays and dialogues for most of the films of Makkal Thilakam MGR and actor Thilakam Sivaji Ganesan, who gained a place in the hearts of the people through his dialogues in the movie ‘Pasamalar’. Although he ruled the film industry through his dialogues, although he is no longer with us, his artistic works will remain forever in the hearts of those who watched and enjoyed films in the Tamil film industry. I express my deepest condolences and condolences to the bereaved family of the storyteller Aroor Das, the art world and fans,” he said.
