by time news

Crowds of shoppers filled carts with all sorts of goodies, the shelves were emptied and the gentleman paid for everything at the cash register. The story that amazes Mea Shearim and became the talk of the day in the Jerusalem neighborhood from the mouth of the cashier

Like every year, today in the afternoon, the neighborhood supermarket in Mea Shearim was packed with residents who came to do shopping in honor of Shabbat Kodesh.

But then, a Jewish gentleman living in France arrived and announced to all the buyers, most of whom of course have families with many children, that they should freely take as many products as they needed and that he would pay for everything at the cash register.

The man’s announcement immediately caused a commotion in the store, as shoppers began emptying shelves, while the rumor spread throughout the neighborhood and brought more and more residents to the place.

In the end the bill reached several tens of thousands of shekels and the gentleman took out a business credit card and paid the entire bill.

The store employee who sits at the cash register tells in a conversation with a ‘Ba Haderi Haredim’ reporter that it is a regular custom of the same gentleman every year in the summer months, to come every Friday to the police station, each time to a different store and pay the shoppers for all the shopping.
