Prices have risen 11 times since then, 137 days later. Petrol and diesel prices have risen by an average of Rs 7.53 per liter in the last 13 days. Diesel price has been hiked by Rs 7.61.
Today, the price of a liter of petrol in Chennai has gone up by 76 paise to Rs 108.21. Diesel price has also gone up by 76 paise to Rs 98.21 per liter. Petrol and diesel prices in India have risen for the 11th time in the last 13 days, despite the fall in international crude oil prices to $ 104 a barrel.
Five State Assembly Elections:
Petrol and diesel prices remained unchanged for 137 days from November 5 last year. Accordingly, a liter of petrol was sold at Rs 101.81 and diesel at Rs 91.88. But with the five state assembly elections over, petrol and diesel prices have risen slightly. Thus, petrol and diesel prices have been hiked 11 times in the last 13 days.
In Chennai, the capital of Tamil Nadu, the price of a liter of petrol was hiked by 75 paise today. Accordingly a liter of petrol sells for 108. 96 rupees. Similarly, a liter of diesel has been raised by 76 paise. Accordingly, a liter of diesel sells for Rs 99.04. Diesel prices in Chennai are expected to touch Rs 100 soon.
13 times increase in petrol, diesel prices:
In this situation, India has decided to buy crude oil from Russia at a lower price. In the first phase, Indian Oil has taken steps to purchase 30 lakh barrels of crude oil. Russia has reportedly come forward to offer India a discount of $ 35 per barrel on first-class crude oil. Russia is also ready to exchange rubles for the dollar.
In this situation, it has been reported that the price of a liter of petrol will be 130 rupees higher tomorrow. Thus petrol stations are said to be closed at various places in the urban areas. It has been reported that petrol stations have been closed in various parts of the country with the aim of making more profit by selling petrol and diesel tomorrow.
