It’s clear that Hollywood actors make a lot more money than the average person, but a new survey reveals that some stars actually make more in one second than most people do in an entire year.

Although she is undoubtedly one of the most beloved stars in Hollywood, you will probably be surprised to learn that Oscar winner Sandra Bullock is at the top of the list of actors in terms of her value per second on screen. According to research commissioned by Onlinecasinos.co.uk, Bullock is worth around $95,000 for every second of her screen time in recent Oscar-nominated films.

Among her many credits, Bullock won the Academy Award for Best Actress in a Leading Role for Second Chance in 2010. Veteran British actor Ian McKellen came in second with just over $90,000 for every second he was on screen.

After these two stars, the drop is quite significant, with Kate Winslet (3rd place), Whoopi Goldberg (4th place) and Dustin Hoffman (5th place) completing the top five. However, the study estimates their value at around $75,000 per second when they appear on screen in an Oscar-nominated film.

At the opposite end of the scale, screen giants Robert De Niro and Tom Cruise rank 48th and 49th respectively, raking in just over $26,000 at the box office per second, according to the study’s metrics. Maybe they should talk to their agents.

When it comes to a lot of pay for very little work, you might be surprised to learn that Oscar-winning actor Anthony Hopkins was on screen during The Silence of the Lambs for only 16 minutes. Despite this, Hopkins was reportedly offered $15 million for the sequel.
