Chennai: In Pozhichalur next to Chennai, 41-year-old Prakash committed suicide by killing his wife and two children.
Prakash, who used to run an Ayurvedic drug store in Chennai, is said to be in dire financial straits. Those who know him well say that this may have been the reason for pushing him to this position.
Prakash, on his wedding day yesterday, allegedly killed his wife and children, wrote a suicide note and then committed suicide.
Suspicious police were informed that the door to his home was not opened this morning and that no one picked up when his relatives called on his cell phone.
Police rushed to the spot and found Prakash’s wife Gayatri (35), son Harikrishnan (11) and daughter Nithyasree (9) dead in the blood flood. Prakash was also found dead.
Shankarnagar police have registered a case and seized the bodies and sent them to the Government Medical College Hospital, Lower Chennai for autopsy.
During the initial investigation, it is believed that Prakash may have committed suicide after giving an anesthetic to his family in the diet and after they fainted and strangled him with an electric saw.
It is noteworthy that Prakash had bought the electric saw used in the murder online on the 19th.
Commissioner of Police Ravi personally inspected the house where the incident took place in Pozhichalur next to Pallavaram. He then said that the whole house was covered in blood. He even cut the children to pieces with an electric saw.
During a search of the house, a bond of Rs 3.50 lakh was seized from Prakash. So, is the debt problem the reason for killing his own family and committing suicide? Were the creditors harassing? The investigation is underway.
Also, a person’s footprint has been reported in a pool of blood that has soaked the entire house. He said an investigation was underway into who the man was.
