Moscow: 11 people were killed and 15 injured in a “terrorist” attack on a Russian military training ground in the Belgorod region, which borders Ukraine. The information was released by Russian news agencies citing the Ministry of Defense. Government news agencies said in a statement that two nationals from the former Soviet Union country opened fire during training and both were killed in the crossfire.
“On October 15, two citizens of a CIS country committed a terrorist act in the training zone of the Western Military District of the Belgorod Region,” the statement said. CIS refers to the republics that were part of the Soviet Union. The ministry said in a statement that the attack took place during a training session for volunteers for a special military operation in Ukraine. More than 200,000 people have joined the Russian armed forces since conscription was implemented on September 21, according to estimates.
Reports have surfaced that an important power plant in Kiev, Ukraine, was seriously damaged by Russia’s missile attack. Russia’s missile strikes disrupted electricity and water supply in densely populated areas. The missile attack that damaged the power station took place on Saturday. People in the capital of Ukraine responded to the international media that until the fault in the power station is resolved, electricity and water will be interrupted.
No one was reported killed or injured in the missile attack. Ukraine’s electricity distribution company Ukrainenergo explains that employees are working tirelessly to fix the problem. The Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine has requested that people in three regions in and around Kyiv try to reduce electricity consumption. Ukraine is facing the most powerful and coordinated missile attack since the start of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, after the TREK blast destroyed Russia’s only bridge to Crimea.
