Shooting at White Sox Game Causes Panic and Concert Cancellation

CHICAGO (WLS) — Chaos erupted at a White Sox game when a shooting occurred in the left field bleachers, causing panic among fans and resulting in the cancellation of the post-game concert.

The details surrounding the shooting are still unclear as the police have not released any further information, and the White Sox organization has refrained from commenting on the incident.

Tom Miller, a witness who attended the game, stated that he was sitting just two rows behind where the shooting took place. Although he did not witness the actual incident, he noticed a woman with a bleeding leg shortly after. Miller believed that two, possibly three, individuals sustained injuries in the incident.

“It happened just two rows in front of me, and there was no one in front of us. All of a sudden, this lady just starts bleeding from the leg,” Miller recounted. “There were at least two people in a row that got hit, maybe a third, but I know two for sure. And all of a sudden, security was there, and they kicked us out.”

Following the shooting, security guards quickly responded and guided attendees away from their seats, relocating them to section six. They remained there for approximately 45 minutes as the situation was secured.

Eyewitnesses reported seeing White Sox security guards conversing with people shortly after the disturbing incident. Some attendees shared their belief that the shooting may have originated from an argument between two men, although the police have not confirmed such details. Furthermore, fans claimed to have spotted shell casings in the stands near where the shooting occurred.

Despite the alarming incident, the game continued uninterrupted. It remains unclear whether the shooting transpired inside the ballpark or outside its premises.

Disgruntled fans who had eagerly anticipated the post-game concert featuring Vanilla Ice and Tone Loc were left frustrated and bewildered when a message appeared on the ballpark screen announcing the cancellation due to “technical difficulties.”

“There was supposed to be a free concert after the game. They came and announced right after the game that it had been canceled. They didn’t give any information. Everyone started booing, going crazy, and saying derogatory things,” complained attendee Rod Moyers. “Then about five minutes later, they put up a note on the screen saying it was canceled due to technical issues. Everyone booed, no one was leaving. Some people said they should storm the field. Then the whole crowd started chanting, ‘Sell the team!'”

A spokesperson from the Chicago Police Department confirmed the occurrence of a “shooting incident” at the game. However, no further details have been provided at this time. Notably, there is an increased police presence outside Guaranteed Rate Field amid ongoing investigations.

As the investigation continues, concerned citizens are urged to monitor and stay informed about crime and safety in their neighborhoods.
