Shooting attack in Bethel: a young man was slightly injured while sitting in the sukkah

Attack on Beit El on the eve of Shabbat Sukkot. A shooting attack was carried out on Saturday night in the settlement of Beit El in the Binyamin regional division. MDA emergency medic Shanir Baruchi, who lives in the settlement, said: “I heard the sounds of gunfire and at the same time I received a report from the MDA headquarters about the wounded man who was just a few houses away from me. He was sitting in a sukkah in the yard, fully conscious and suffering from an injury to his upper body. We gave him medical treatment that included a bandage and stopped bleeding and evacuated him in an MDA ambulance in a light and stable condition for further treatment at the hospital.”

The second terrorist was captured

After a night of hunting, the second suspect in the shooting attack was arrested. The soldiers of the IDF, the Shin Bet and the MGB arrested the suspect, Muhammad Odeh, about 19 years old, in the village of Deir-Jarir in the Binyamin regional division, along with two other assistants. Weapons, uniforms and propaganda materials were found in the terrorist’s house.

Odeh, was arrested on suspicion of taking part in last night’s shooting attack near Beit El. Odeh and other activists suspected of helping him were arrested and handed over to the security forces for investigation. During last night’s attack, an IDF force neutralized a terrorist who was active in the area, Kays Shegaia, about 23 years old, a Hamas operative, also a resident of the village of Deir Jarir. Shegaia was formerly imprisoned due to his involvement in terrorist activities.
