A shooting took place in the parking lot of the Las Palmas Square leaving one lifeless officer and another wound.
The incident occurred around noon this Thursday, July 18 in the parking lot of Plaza Las Palmas located in the Cuauhtémoc Avenuethis is north of the city of Veracruz.
Initial reports indicate that armed men opened fire on two officers -state y municipal- allegedly attempting to deprive a person of their liberty at the location.

The uniformed officers repelled the attack, but the criminals – aboard a white van Mazda brand– they managed to wound one of them with a bullet, while the state agent lost her life.
Elements of the police arrived at the site Department of Public Security (SSP) and the Attorney General of the State of Veracruz (FGE) to address the situation.
The SSP reported that an operation was being carried out in the area to find those responsible. The security agents of this corporation found the abandoned Mazda van.
Both were injured.
The events are therefore being followed up with preliminary investigations and the situation is under control by sending the investigation to the FGE to find those responsible.

In light of the events, the Veracruz Prosecutor’s Office reported that it opened an investigation file through the Regional Prosecutor’s Office for the central zone of the state.
Regarding the alleged kidnapping, the authority indicated that:
“The events arose from the probable deprivation of liberty of a person in the parking lot of a shopping center located on Cuauhtémoc Avenue.”
In the line of duty, a member of the state police and a municipal police officer were injured.

In the area, experts, prosecutors and ministerial agents are carrying out the corresponding procedures in order to clarify the facts and find those responsible for the attack.
The Prosecutor’s Office did not confirm whether the person’s liberty was deprived by the armed men who attacked the officers.
