Baghdad / Obelisk Al-Hadath: A man was seriously injured in a terrorist attack in Tel Aviv, and the perpetrator was killed, according to the Israeli police and ambulance services.
Police said they had received information relating to a gun attack on Montefiore Street in Tel Aviv.
The Magen David Adom ambulance service said a man was seriously injured, adding that he was taken to Ichilov Hospital and remains in a critical condition.
The police stated that investigators in the Tel Aviv municipality noticed a young man who aroused their suspicions and asked to control him.. At that moment, the suspect shot an interrogator, seriously wounding him (…) while another municipal investigator succeeded in neutralizing the terrorist.
The hospital later announced the death of the Palestinian attacker, who was identified by the Shin Bet internal security service as Kamel Abu Bakr, 22, from the Jenin area in the West Bank.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu praised the vigilance of the municipal security patrol (…) which made it possible to thwart a much more serious attack.
The attack comes a day after the killing of two Palestinian youths, aged 18 and 19, in the West Bank. The Palestinian Ministry of Health said that the first was shot dead by Israeli soldiers and the other shot by settlers during clashes.
