According to reports, gunshots were heard near the hotel where England cricket team members are staying in Pakistan.
The England cricket team has gone to Pakistan and is playing a 3-match Test series. The England team is leading by 1-0 after enjoying victory by 74 runs in the first Test match which started on 1st in Rawalpindi. In this case, the 2nd Test match between these two teams will start at 10.30 am today in Multan.
In this case, before the 2nd Test match, according to reports, gunshots were heard 1 km away from the hotel where the England team players are staying. The Telegraph reports that four people have been arrested in connection with the incident, which took place on Thursday morning, and that the shooting was a result of a local faction fight, and no one was injured.
After the Sri Lankan cricket team was attacked in Lahore in 2009, many cricket boards decided that it was not safe to tour Pakistan. So, everyone was reluctant to send their team to Pakistan. Subsequently, various attempts were made to hold cricket matches in Pakistan. Following Pakistan’s assurance that ‘there is no security problem in their country’, many teams including Sri Lanka, West Indies and Australia are touring and playing in Pakistan.
The foreign teams coming to Pakistan are provided utmost security. It is in this context that after 17 years, the England team has embarked on a tour to participate in the Test match in Pakistan.
