As the e-commerce industry’s unsettled situation shows signs of expanding, concerns are growing about a ‘second Timon or WeMakePrice situation.’

According to industry sources on the 18th, it was confirmed that all employees of online shopping mall Allets resigned as soon as the business closed.

The Alerts side posted a notice on their homepage titled “Service Termination Notice” that reads, “We would like to express our gratitude to everyone who has used Alerts so far and say our final farewell. We would like to inform you that due to unavoidable business circumstances, we have decided to terminate the service on August 31.”

In the group open chatroom where customers affected by the suspension of operations at Alerts have gathered, there are a series of seller posts complaining about the damages.

In particular, it has been reported that Allets dismissed all 45 employees on the 16th. There have also been cases where MDs have directly contacted sellers and requested that they stop selling.

Alerts, operated by Interstellar, has expanded its business area from interior products to a premium living goods shopping platform.

However, as the recent cases of unpaid sales proceeds continued, an open chat room was created among victims of shopping malls to urge the company to take action, such as cancellation or refund.

Some are concerned that the suspension of operations at Alerts could be a sign of the fallout from the poor e-commerce business that was a concern after the Timep incident.

Meanwhile, Interpark Commerce, which had emphasized its own path after the Timon and WeMakePrice incidents, filed for corporate rehabilitation procedures in the form of the Autonomous Restructuring Support Program (ARS) at the Seoul Rehabilitation Court on the 16th, effectively forcing all affiliates under the Quten Group to undergo restructuring.
