by time news

the short film I’m waiting for you to come back, by former student of the Academia Internacional de Cinema (AIC) Marina Lavarini, won Best Art Direction at V MOV – Pernambuco International University Film Festival. The film’s art director is student Ailin Elias. The short film was made during the AIC Film – Intensive Vacation course and was also awarded at this year’s Filmworks Film Festival in the Best Free Short Film category.

The entire team for the short film is made up of AIC students, including the cast. “We formed a group of six people and made the short film as a final course work. The teachers were very helpful and gave us valuable tips. The banking was also a sensational moment for us to feel what was working and what wasn’t. We were happy with the result we achieved, despite budgetary and time constraints, and it has been a great pleasure to see that the work is bearing some fruit”, explained Marina.

The film has participated in several national and international festivals, and won two honorable mentions: CineBaru, in Minas Gerais, and at the Student World Impact Film Festival, in New York, USA.

“Participating in the AIC course was a very good choice to start a career in cinema and I really want to take other courses – who knows, Filmworks itself”, said the director.
