the short film Opus 73, by Gabriel Vidal, a former student of the Academia Internacional de Cinema, will be screened at Cine Satyros Bijou on March 25th, at 8pm. The film was awarded at the All that Moves International Film Festival, in the Super Short Film category, and at the Roshani International Film Festival 2021, in the Best Mobile Short Film category. It was also nominated at the Festival de Cinema Móvel de Brasília 2020, as Best Editing, and was a finalist in the Best International Film category at the Austin Micro Film Festival 2022; in addition to being screened at the 6th Festival Curta Campos do Jordão and at Cine Tornado Festival 2020.

The short film was made during an exercise at Filmworks, a technical course in cinematographic direction at AIC, called self-portrait.

“I am very proud and also impressed that such a short class exercise has gone so far at the festivals. Something makes the film captivate people and to this day I can’t say what it is. But I hope it will serve as an incentive for other students to send everything they do in the course, their short films, experiments and exercises to festivals. It’s a great learning experience”, explained Gabriel.

SYNOPSIS

An audiovisual self-portrait, the student’s attempt to explore his own mind and reflect on how he experiences his private world. The film plays with the combination and interrelation of images and music, while revealing a personal and intimate world.
