Choi Min-jeong “I’m happy for the first international competition in a long time… “It was a good comeback”

Kim Gil-li (Seongnam City Hall), the next-generation star of the short track women’s national team, won the women’s 1500m in the first competition of the International Skating Union (ISU) Short Track World Tour in the 2024-2025 season.
Gilly Kim crossed the finish line first with a time of 2 minutes 24.396 seconds in the women’s 1500m final held at the Morris Richards Arena in Montreal, Quebec, Canada on the 28th (Korean time).
He beat Belgium’s Haner Desmut (2 minutes 24.438 seconds), who took the silver medal, in the last lap.
Kim Gil-gi added a silver medal in the mixed 2000m relay with Choi Min-jeong, Kim Geon-woo (Sports Toto), and Kim Tae-seong (Seoul City Hall).
Choi Min-jeong (Seongnam City Hall), who also competed, won the bronze medal (2 minutes 24.510 seconds).

In the men’s 1000m and women’s 500m, not a single person made it to the finals and failed to win a medal.
The Korean national team, which completed the first competition of the World Tour, will participate in the second competition to be held at the same location from the 1st to the 4th of next month.
The second competition was originally scheduled to be held in Salt Lake City, Utah, USA, but the venue was changed due to issues with the safety fence specifications of the stadium.
