Shortage of fuel: the Loire-Atlantique very affected, the West and the South under tension

by time news

Against the backdrop of strikes in refineries, many service stations are affected across the country. With 53.37% of stations in shortage of at least one fuel, Loire-Atlantique becomes the first department concerned, according to public data analyzed by AFP. Other departments in the west are also very affected (Morbihan, Ille-et-Vilaine, Mayenne, Maine-et-Loire all above 40% of stations in short supply), and the south also remains very affected ( Bouches-du-Rhône, Aude above 40%, many other departments above 30%).

One in six service stations nationwide

On the ninth day of mobilization against the pension reform, 15.14% of service stations in France were at 9 a.m. short of at least one of the fuels (petrol and / or diesel) they offered on Wednesday March 1, based on an analysis of data from the government’s fuel price website. About 7.65% of the stations are dry.

France has 200 oil depots and oil companies have anticipated to avoid the giant shortage of last October, caused by a dispute over wages at TotalEnergies and Esso. In Loire-Atlantique, the Donges refinery has ceased its fuel shipments for many days.
