The route of the 2024 Giro d’Italia was presented and the general feeling is that it is an edition with a tendency towards shorter stages and less accumulated elevation gain. The Corsa Rosa will, of course, have more time trials than the Tour and Vuelta.

The first major of the course will face the edition with the least amount of difference in altitude (42,900 m) since 2010. In addition, it will have 68.2 kilometers of individual time trial (spread over two stages) and a day on the sterrato (stage 6).

Regarding the high finishes, there will be eight. Among the important ports included are Prati di Tivo, Livigno, Monte Pana, Passo Brocon and a double pass through Monte Grappa. The Cima Coppi will be the Stelvio.

Another interesting fact that reflects the reduction in global toughness is that there will be only five days of more than 185 kilometers in length, compared to 11 in 2023. In fact, it is the minimum amount in more than a decade.

The event will start in the Piemonte region on May 4 and will end in Rome on the 26th of the same month. For all the details of the route, tomorrow we will publish our traditional analysis.
