Shots Fired at Apartment Building in Burlöv on New Year’s Eve
Residents of an apartment building in Burlöv were rattled on New Year’s Eve when several shots were fired at the building. The police were first alerted to the incident at 1:20 p.m. when members of the public discovered suspected gunshot wounds in the house’s stairwell.
According to Rickard Lundqvist, press spokesperson at the police, there was a call reporting suspected bullet holes in the door of an apartment. The police believe that the shooting took place during the night, as no one had called to report the incident immediately.
Lundqvist mentioned, “Because no one has called about shooting, perhaps for obvious reasons given what we had yesterday.” Thankfully, no one was injured in the incident. However, the stairwell has been cordoned off and the police will be knocking on doors during the day as part of their investigation.
The incident is being classified as attempted murder, and the police are urging anyone with information about the shooting to come forward. Residents of the apartment building are understandably shaken by the incident and are hoping for a swift resolution to the case.
