jpnn.com – Deputy Chairman of Commission III of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Ahmad Sahroni, highlighted the alleged bullying case at Binus School Simprug, South Jakarta, which befell a student with the initials RE.

To resolve the polemics regarding this case, Commission III of the Indonesian House of Representatives brought in the victims, Binus, and the legal counsel for the alleged perpetrators so that each could provide information.

RE explained in the forum how he allegedly experienced bullying, while Binus said that what happened was a fight with an agreement between the students involved.

Regarding the reports received, Sahroni assessed that reporting in the legal realm should be done by the victim after the facts of the case are clear.

“I remind all parties not to use law enforcement to show the power of a group of people arbitrarily. This is important. So, legal counsel should not just report to the police, using power for cases that are not necessarily true,” said Sahroni in his statement, Tuesday (17/9/2024).

The NasDem Party legislator also added that in investigating this case, it is very important that law enforcers and related parties do not associate Binus as an institution with bullying, because in fact the problem that occurred was between students.

“It should be remembered that schools should never be blamed in this bullying case, because this is a problem between students themselves which is not necessarily true. So, we have to be more careful here,” he said.

Finally, Sahroni encouraged the legal counsel to sit together and try to find a win-win solution for all parties.

Deputy Chairman of Commission III of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Ahmad Sahroni, highlighted the alleged bullying at Binus School Simprug, which was considered to be still unclear.
