jpnn.comBEKASI DISTRICT – PT Nippisun Indonesia’s efforts to support community social action and the environment through CSR activities continue to be intensified. This time, PT Nippisun together with the community planted 5 thousand mangrove trees on the coast of Muara Bakti Village, Pantia Simple Village, Muara Gembong District, Bekasi Regency.

Muara Gembong District Development Figure Dani Ramdan said that his party really appreciates Nippisun’s assistance in this planting, which has been carried out twice year after year.

“We appreciate that last year, we took part in planting 5 thousand mangrove trees,” said Dani in his speech at the tree planting event on Saturday (21/9).

Dani believes that there are still Bekasi residents who pay little attention to environmental sustainability issues. Dani said that currently there are fewer mangrove trees, which threatens marine biota and causes coastal erosion.Showing Environmental Concern, PT Nippisun Plants 5 Thousand Mangrove Trees in Bekasi

“But Nippisun and the people here have been struggling since last year to plant around 5 thousand mangrove trees and today the second day they will plant another 5 thousand mangrove trees and in the future they will also plant more so that our mangrove forests can recover again, can function optimally as greenbelt or protecting the green belt of Bekasi Regency,” he said.

According to him, mangrove forests function as oxygen factories to neutralize air pollution from factories in Bekasi Regency and its surroundings.

Representative from PT Nippisun Yogi Ferdinan said the company really cares about encouraging environmental sustainability and economic independence of the community in Bekasi Regency.

Before holding this tree planting action, PT Nippisun also helped the community by providing education for baristas, cake cooking and livestock. According to him, the local workforce must change their mindset from workers to entrepreneurs.
