Shreyas Iyer named ICC Player of the Year

Indian youngster Shreyas Iyer has been named the ICC Player of the Month for February. New Zealand’s Amelia Kerr is the best female player. Shreyas’ performance in the three-match T20 series against Sri Lanka earned him the award. Shreyas becomes only fourth Indian to be named ICC Player of the Month

Shreyas beat Nepal all-rounder Deependra Singh Iri and UAE teenager Vritya Aravind to win the award. The Kiwis beat Indian duo of Mithali Raj and Deepti Sharma. Kerr had scored 353 runs in the ODI series against India. This is what made Kerr worthy of the award.
