The first Test between India and New Zealand starts in Kanpur yesterday. Ajinkya Rahane is leading the team as India captain Virat Kohli did not play in the match. India won the toss and elected to bat first.
Shreyas Iyer made his Test debut in this match. Mayank Agarwal, India’s opening batsman, was dismissed for 13. But another opener, Schumann Gill, who scored a superb Audi fifty, was dismissed for 52, followed by Pujara for 26. Captain Ajinkya Rahane, who started well, was dismissed for 35.
