Shulamit Lapid – writer and playwright

Lapid was born in Tel Aviv, one of the most prolific artists in the country. At the center of her work are often figures of powerful women who control their fate. Among her historical novels are “Guy Oni”, “The Farm of the Misses”, “Like the Broken Pottery”, short stories and children’s books as well as plays, including “Abandoned Property”, “The Lifetime Achievement”, “Uterus” and more.

Dr. Meirav Roth, Clinical Psychologist

Dr. Meirav Roth is the head of the Department of Psychotherapy at Tel Aviv University, author of the book: “What Happens to the Reader”, a psychoanalytic observation of reading literature, as well as articles in psychoanalysis and the connection between psychoanalysis and culture. (Meirav is the daughter of Shulamit Lapid).

C. Hyman, actress, singer and creator

Hyman recorded her first song, which she wrote and composed when she was 13, when she was educated at Kibbutz Beit Alfa, the kibbutz where she was born. Daughter of one of the grants of Hebrew music – Nahum Heiman.

Hyman became famous in the film “Vouchers” by Avi Nesher, in 1985. In 1987 she released her first album with “Local Band”. Since then she has released a number of albums most of which she has written and composed and also participated in a number of other films. Hyman took part in the TV show “School of Music”. And she is a social activist, among others in the “Enosh” organization.

The play “Abandoned Property” by Shulamit Lapid, directed and starring Assi Levy, alongside actresses Gal Malka and Nofar Salman.

Abandoned property
A powerful and exciting drama, centered on a complex relationship between a mother and her daughters. The mother (Asi Levy) and her two daughters live in a building defined as “abandoned property.” The father of the family left the family and started a new family, elsewhere. They are required to vacate the place, and move into housing, to the displeasure of the mother.
