SI hacking case: Four arrested, including children Sub Inspector murder | Goat Thieves

Chennai: Four people have been arrested in connection with the murder of a sub-inspector while patrolling in Tiruchirappalli, Tamil Nadu. Among those arrested were children between the ages of 10 and 17. The deceased has been identified as SIC Bhuminathan, 50, of Navalpattu station. During a night patrol, he saw two men stealing a goat on a bike and was hacked to death when he tried to stop it. The incident took place on Sunday morning.

Those who did not stop were chased by Bhuminathan on his bike and stopped when the thieves hit him on the head. When the colleague arrived, he found the body bathed in blood. The state government has announced a financial assistance of Rs 1 crore to Bhuminathan’s family. One member was also offered a government job.
