The British government has just appointed Richard Benyon, president of the delegation which will be present at the International Agricultural Show in Morocco (SIAM), a source close to British diplomacy told La Vie Éco. The newly appointed Minister for the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs will thus lead a large delegation made up of 30 British companies and will organize several meetings with Moroccan officials, with the key to strategic agreements in the field of agriculture, according to our information.

“We are pleased to confirm that 30 UK companies are taking part in SIAM this year, across multiple sub-sectors including agri-technical, machinery, sustainability, horticulture and logistics. They will participate in the panels of the British conference days, as well as in B2B meetings with companies from Morocco and from 60 other countries in Africa and other continents”, explains Tom Hill, Consul General of the United Kingdom in Rabat. It will also be an opportunity to present and celebrate British products, according to the same source, in particular the Costa Coffee group which opened its first store in Morocco in Marrakech a few months ago and which is preparing to open its second. store in Casablanca soon.

“We will also have companies like Emmerson, a British company that is focused on developing the Khémisset potash project in northern Morocco, which is a key ingredient for fertilizers essential for food security,” continues Tom Hill.

It should be remembered that the United Kingdom, which will be guest of honor at the 15th edition of SIAM, has planned an important system comprising a large pavilion of 402 m2, around thirty companies, 60 British experts, in addition to the organization of 6 conferences and workshops.
