Siamese twins arrive in Riyadh; Separation surgery after study

Jeddah ∙ Siamese twins Salma and Sarah arrived in Riyadh from Egypt for surgery. Salma and Sarah arrived in Riyadh with their parents in a special air ambulance sent by Saudi Arabia. The surgery was performed on the orders of King Salman, the ruler of Saudi Arabia. They were taken to the King Abdullah Specialist Children’s Hospital in the Ministry of National Guard to study their health condition and consider the possibility of dissection surgery. The surgery will be after a feasibility study.


Siamese twins from around the world have already been flown to Saudi Arabia to study the possibility of separation surgery and undergo surgery. The Royal Court Adviser and head of the medical team for the surgical procedure that separates the Siamese twins, Drs. Tests and surgeries will be supervised by Abdullah Al Rabia.
