Sid Shriram made his cinematic debut as a playback singer in the film ‘Kadal’ directed by Mani Ratnam. After that he impressed a lot of fans by singing the song If You Are With Me which was featured in the movie ‘I’ directed by Sid Shriram Shankar. He also won the Filmfare Best Playback Singer Award.
It has been reported that Sid Sriram, the best playback singer in Tamil and Telugu cinema, is currently making his acting debut under the direction of Mani Ratnam. It has been reported that Sid Shriram will play the lead role in the film, which will be scripted by Jayamohan. An official announcement has not been made yet.
Mani Ratnam is currently directing ‘Ponniyin Selvan’ starring Vikram, Jayam Ravi, Karthi, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Trisha, Jayaram, Aishwarya Lakshmi, Vikram Prabhu, Prakash Raj among others.
