“40 years after the discovery of HIV, the public remains faithfully committed to our side”, welcomed Florence Thune, CEO of Sidaction this Sunday, at the end of the 2023 edition of this annual solidarity event. 3,911,394 euros in donations were collected this year according to a press release from the association.
“Inflation weighs on the economic situation of the French who have to make a lot of sacrifices. A big thank you, therefore, to those who were still able to make a pledge to the association. Stability in the results which underlines everyone’s commitment and confidence in continuing the fight to the end,” added Florence Thune.

The Director General nevertheless called for the fight to continue, recalling that the new infections were “still too numerous” and that “millions of people do not have access to treatment”. “The hope of seeing a world without AIDS is possible, but many obstacles still need to be overcome to get there,” she concluded.
The funds collected will be donated to research and care programs and to associative programs for the care and assistance of people living with HIV, in France and abroad.
