Sidi Bennour: positive results of phase III of the INDH, with 343 projects planned

These projects have benefited a population of 132,133 people, Ms. Chattabi said in a statement to M24, MAP’s continuous news channel, on the sidelines of a ceremony organized on the occasion of the celebration of the 18th anniversary of the INDH.

Program I of the Initiative, Catching up on deficits in infrastructure and basic social services, benefited from 24 projects, for a budget of 15 MDH, indicated Ms. Chattabi, specifying that these projects concerned the purchase of school transport vehicles and ambulances and the completion of work to equip primary schools with fences and renovate their toilets.

As for program II “Support for people in precarious situations”, the manager indicated that it benefited from 21 projects (18 MDH) which mainly concerned support for the management of establishments created within the framework of phases I and II of the INDH, and the management of certain centers offering services to people with disabilities.

Some 38 projects were carried out within the framework of program III relating to the improvement of income and economic inclusion of young people, for an amount of 32 MDH, said Ms. Chattabi, adding that these projects concerned the creation of the Sidi Bennour youth platform, and the support and assistance of project leaders in the aspect of supporting entrepreneurship and the solidarity and social economy.

Regarding program IV, Boosting the human capital of rising generations, it saw the launch of 260 projects, with an envelope of 84 MDH allocated in particular to support maternal and child health, the generalization of preschool and schooling, and the purchase of medical equipment and tools for the benefit of health establishments in Sidi Bennour, noted Ms. Chattabi.

The celebration ceremony was marked by the signing of a partnership agreement between the Provincial Directorate of the Ministry of National Education and the INDH concerning the creation of a support center for educational activities.

In a statement to M24, the provincial director of national education, Rachid Soufi, indicated that the contribution of the INDH fund contributed to the acquisition of 53% of school transport vehicles and the construction of more than 157 preschool units, adding that 80,000 children benefited from the “One million schoolbags” initiative, while 167 schools benefited from the construction of boundary walls.

The ceremony also saw the signing of a partnership agreement between the INDH and the Provincial Directorate of Health and Social Protection.

In this regard, the provincial director of Health, Adil Al Achaari, said that, thanks to the INDH, the health sector has benefited from the equipment of five maternity hospitals and a local hospital in Zemamra, noting that the partnership agreement signed this Thursday allows providing the provincial directorate with human resources specialized in maternal and child health, as well as acquiring a number of medical equipment that will be allocated to the ophthalmology operating room and the purchase of a medical unit dedicated to maternal and child health.
