Thus, the INDH, and within the framework of the program for improving income and economic inclusion of young people, in particular the axis of support for the social and solidarity economy, has allocated significant financial resources for the acquisition of production equipment for the benefit of cooperatives and developed training programs and support services through the youth platform, in order to increase their capacities, develop their performance and help with the marketing of their products.
Some 28 cooperatives active in several fields (agriculture, crafts, trade, services, agriculture, tourism, fishing, medicinal and aromatic plants) benefited from financial support exceeding 2.5 million dirhams, to which the INDH contributed more than 1.5 million dirhams during its third phase (2019-2023).
The agricultural cooperative “Taroua Oubla”, specialized in the production of Amlou and located in the commune of Ait Rakha (90 km from the city of Sidi Ifni), is one of the cooperatives that has benefited from financial and technical support from the INDH.
Thanks to this support, this cooperative was able to obtain last year the certificate of the National Office of Food Safety, which allowed it to participate in exhibitions at local, regional and regional levels, for the marketing of its products.
Among the most active cooperatives in the province of Sidi Ifni is also “Création Lakhsas”, located in the commune of Lakhsas, and which has benefited from the financial and technical support of the INDH.
This cooperative, created in 2021, works in the field of crafts (decoration and furnishing, living room and sewing, and printing on clothing).
Its president, Zahra Amini, told MAP that thanks to the financial support provided by the initiative, this cooperative has managed to acquire modern equipment that has allowed it to increase its production.
She highlighted the constant interest that the INDH gives to cooperatives, in terms of financial and technical support, thus creating employment opportunities and improving the income of women members of the cooperative.
For his part, Mohamed Laaribi, head of the income improvement and economic inclusion of young people department in the province of Sidi Ifni, stressed that the support provided by the National Initiative for Human Development to cooperatives aims to improve the income of their members, create employment opportunities and contribute to the development of the local economic fabric, noting that the celebration of the International Day of Cooperatives is an opportunity to review the efforts and achievements of the INDH, particularly during its third phase.
In this regard, he stressed that the Initiative contributed between 2019 and 2023 to the financing of 28 cooperatives within the framework of the third program relating to the improvement of income and the economic inclusion of young people, for a total cost exceeding 2.5 million dirhams, to which the INDH made a contribution of more than 1.5 million dirhams.
