Sidi Mansour station back to full capacity

by times news cr

The Ministry of Electricity and Renewable Energy of the Libyan government assigned by the House of Representatives announced that “the maintenance teams of the General Electricity Company were able to “complete work at the Sidi Mansour station (30/11 kV) and restore its full capacity to the electrical grid, after it went out of service during the past few days due to a fire that broke out inside it.”

According to the ministry’s statement, “maintenance teams installed 7 new 30k cells, replacing the cells damaged by the fire, in addition to installing new cables, instead of the damaged ones.”

The team also “carried out a complete overhaul of the station, until it was ready for operation. After confirming its condition, it was connected to the electrical grid and the electrical supply was fully supplied to all the areas and neighborhoods that it is fed from,” according to the statement.

It is noteworthy that “maintenance teams began this morning, Tuesday, to connect the second transformer inside the station in order to enter it into the network, which will result in a partial shutdown for a period ranging from 4 to 6 hours, and then the station will return to the electrical network again, and thus all work inside the station will be completely completed.”

With full support from the Ministry of Electricity and Renewable Energy, the Sidi Mansour station (30/11 kV) is back on the grid at full capacity…
