In a statement, the CNDH indicated that this pavilion also provided a platform for more than 100 national and international actors who took part in 40 meetings, while giving voice to hundreds of children from all regions of the Kingdom.

Coinciding this year with the commemoration by the CNDH of the 20th anniversary of the creation of the Equity and Reconciliation Commission (IER), placed under the theme “20 years of the Equity and Reconciliation Commission: a stage, a process, a celebration”, this stand was an opportunity to highlight Morocco’s pioneering experience in transitional justice at the national, regional and international levels, particularly among young people and children, added the same source.

“We managed to celebrate the experience of transitional justice in Morocco and to make known to visitors to our pavilion, as well as those of the Salon, the main legislative and constitutional reforms and achievements,” said the president of the CNDH, Amina Bouayach, quoted by the press release, adding that “the human rights stand addressed current and emerging issues and challenges.”

The Council’s pavilion received, throughout the ten days, thousands of visitors of different age groups and nationalities, and hosted 13 colloquiums led by Moroccan and foreign experts and actors (more than 100 personalities from various fields of activity), and this with the contribution of institutional and civil partners, as well as actors in the field of human rights, indicated the CNDH.

The Council also organized 19 discussions and literary meetings around several works and creative books dealing with current issues relating to human rights, it was noted, noting that several renowned writers and authors at the national, continental and international levels (Morocco, Ivory Coast, Afghanistan, Lebanon, Burundi, Palestine, Gabon, Burkina Faso) participated in these meetings.

A significant space was also reserved for the presentation of novels and poetic works in Amazigh and Hassani, from various regions of the Kingdom, in order to contribute to the promotion of expressions and cultural and linguistic pluralism of Moroccan identity.

The Council indicated that the pavilion was entirely reserved in the mornings for children from all regions of the Kingdom to express their concerns and aspirations, through various creative forms, including theater, drawing, singing and music, in accordance with the principle of participation that the CNDH advocates for its institutionalization.

A delegation including a group of Palestinian children from Al-Quds also visited the CNDH pavilion at SIEL, in the presence of the President of the Council, Amina Bouayach, who, in this context, attended one of the morning meetings led by the children.

The CNDH pavilion also provided an open and inclusive space that welcomed all groups of people, it was added, specifying that the Council ensured access for people with disabilities, in particular by providing sign language translation during most activities, an orientation aid strip for blind and visually impaired people, an access route, as well as access ramps designed for people with reduced mobility.

In order to strengthen its digital interaction with its public on social networks, the Council ensured direct broadcasting, on its Facebook page, of all the pavilion’s activities, through more than 60 hours of live broadcasts with sign language translation.
