On this occasion, the Palestinian ambassador to Rabat, Jamal Choubki indicated, in a statement to MAP, that the visit of the Maqdessi students to Morocco came following an invitation from the Higher Council for Education, Training and Scientific Research (CSEFRS), noting that this initiative enshrines Moroccan-Palestinian ties, “to educate new generations on the history of the unique Morocco-Palestine relationship.”

In this regard, Mr. Choubki noted that this initiative also reaffirms the solidarity of Moroccan children with their Palestinian brothers, highlighting the depth of Morocco’s centuries-old presence in Al Qods.

For his part, the director in charge of managing the Bayt Mal Al-Qods Acharif Agency, Mohamed Salem Cherkaoui, indicated that the students concerned come from different schools in Al Qods, in particular those placed under the aegis of the Agency, including the “Hassan II” school in Wadi Al-Jouz, the “Al Massira” school in Chaafat, the Matran school and the Arab school.

Mr. Cherkaoui also stressed that this symbolic initiative is part of the intrinsic and constant solidarity of Moroccans, under the leadership of HM King Mohammed VI, Chairman of the Al-Quds Committee, with their Palestinian brothers, as evidenced by the unprecedented food aid operation delivered by land, ordered by HM King Mohammed VI, may God preserve him, Chairman of the Al-Quds Committee, for the benefit of Palestinians in Al-Quds and Gaza during the month of Ramadan.

“This initiative coincides with the commemoration of the 76th anniversary of the “Nakba”, he noted, adding that students in Moroccan schools commemorated this occasion with postcards presented at the Agency’s stand, in solidarity with Palestinian students, before being transmitted to Palestinian schools.

The Bayt Mal Al-Qods Acharif Agency is participating in the 29th edition of SIEL, with a pavilion entitled “The Dome of the Rock”, in collaboration with the Ministry of Youth, Culture and Communication.

Spread over an area of 90 m², with an architecture combining authentic Moroccan character and Palestinian style, inspired by the monuments of the Al-Aqsa Mosque, notably “The Dome of the Rock”, this pavilion aims to be an integrated and intelligent space to welcome children and adults.
