Industrial manufacturing giant Siemens has launched a 5G router that is a key component in the manufacturing industry.
According to the company, 5G applications in private industry offer many benefits to customers in autonomous machinery, intra-logistics, industrial edge, remote sensing, assisted work, augmented reality, wireless backhaul, edge computing and mobile devices.
5G networks are a space that can be configured to suit the needs of the manufacturing sector. Private 5G networks also offer data security, said Subrakash Chelatri, Head, Digital Industries, Siemens Ltd.
Its industrial 5G routers Scalans MUM856-1 and MUM853-1 help improve mobile broadband transmission and reliable and machine-type communication.
These routers are said to connect industrial applications with 5G, 4G (LTE) and 3G (UMTS) mobile wireless networks.
Scalans MUM856-1 offers a bandwidth speed of up to 1000Mbps for download and a bandwidth speed of up to 500 Mbps for uploading data.
