This activity of the National University of Sciences, Technologies, Engineering and Mathematics (UNSTIM), received the support of ANPE, public employment service in Benin. There have been several other partnership agreements signed between UNSTIM and partners including the National Employers Council etc. This initiative is the work of the UNSTIM rectoral council which intends to strengthen students at the end of their training and those during their course so that they can easily enter the job market. In his speech, DG ANPE, Urbain Amegbedji invited students to develop capacities to be able to match the needs of the labor market. The overall challenge of the job market in Benin is that out of 100 workers, 20 are employees and 80 are self-employers. “When we go to a market where out of 100 workers, 80 are self-employed, is it possible that we have no idea about entrepreneurship? This is not possible because the market is essentially geared towards self-employment. This is why we say that, whatever the education received in universities, some notions must be given to learners about entrepreneurship,” he urged. For his part, the representative of the National Employers’ Council expressed, on behalf of their president Eutache Kotigan, his satisfaction in collaborating with UNSTIM. At the same time, he made students aware of taking themselves seriously as soon as they are sent to companies for internships.
