Factors affecting the Syrian pound
The Syrian pound continues to decline against the US dollar in the unofficial (black) parallel market, as the Syrian pound fell to its lowest level since the beginning of the conflict in 2011, as it lost most of its value on the black market.
This comes amid expectations that the value of the Syrian pound will continue to decline for a longer period, in the absence of a real way out from the severely deteriorating Syrian economy.
Experts attributed the deterioration of the value of the Syrian currency to dollarization and the provision of foreign currencies, in addition to the economic sanctions imposed on the Syrian Central Bank, which impede the movement of exports outside the country.
