Signing a cooperation protocol to maintain the Darghouth Mosque in the old city of Tripoli

On Sunday, in the capital, Tripoli, a memorandum of understanding was signed between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, represented by the Department of International Cooperation, and the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA), as well as a cooperation protocol for the maintenance of the Darghouth Mosque in the old city of Tripoli.

This comes within the framework of the efforts made by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Government of National Unity to regulate the work of international governmental institutions and agencies through a legal framework that regulates their work within the State of Libya.

Ashraf Al-Tayeb, Director of the International Cooperation Department, signed the Memorandum of Understanding on behalf of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, while Mahmoud Al-Naas, Head of the Old City Administration Authority, signed the cooperation protocol on behalf of the Libyan side, and on the Turkish side, Serkan Kayalar, Head of the TIKA Agency, signed the Memorandum of Understanding and the cooperation protocol.

The signing ceremony was attended by the Undersecretary of the Ministry for Migration and Expatriates Affairs, Mr. Amhamed Zidane, and a number of directors at the Ministry. The signing of the Memorandum of Understanding aims to strengthen the bonds of international development cooperation between the State of Libya and the Republic of Turkey, and as a continuation of the path of close bilateral cooperation between the two friendly countries.

Its provisions also stipulate the importance of coordination with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation in the programmes provided by the agency, in order to open up horizons for effective partnership in a way that serves the common interest, taking into account the supreme interest of the State of Libya.
