Signing a joint agreement between the Federation of Libyan Chambers of Commerce and the Russian Chambers

The General Federation of Chambers of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture signed a cooperation agreement with the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, in the Russian Federation, in the economic field and strengthening relations.

According to the Libyan Chambers Federation, the two parties agreed to commit to contributing to expanding communications between institutions, organizations, companies and businessmen between the two countries.

It was also agreed to exchange all information of common interest related to the economy and foreign trade in the markets of both countries.

The two sides agreed to provide assistance in organizing forums, conferences and meetings in the field of economy and trade, hold regular meetings to evaluate agreed measures and overcome obstacles hindering the development of economic cooperation, and consider current and future issues of bilateral cooperation.

According to the Russian Embassy in Libya, in his opening speech, Vice-President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation Vladimir Padalko expressed his confidence in the possibility of increasing trade with Libya, which ranks fifth among Russia’s trading partners in Africa.

Vladimir Padalko said that they have the opportunity to provide businessmen with information so that they can work more effectively, according to the embassy.

It is noteworthy that on May 16, 2024, bilateral meetings were held during the Kazan 2024 Forum in Russia, between the two sides, during which it was agreed to sign a cooperation agreement between the chambers.

For his part, the head of the General Union of Libyan Chambers, Mohammed Al-Raid, pointed out that Russian-Libyan relations have a long history and the Libyan delegation arrived in Moscow to give them new momentum, adding that there are many companies in Russia that can help revive Libya, playing the role of business partners and investors, according to the Russian embassy.
