The Government of National Unity signed an agreement to establish a specialized development fund, within the framework of an initiative to consolidate and strengthen cooperation between Libya and the Islamic Development Bank Group.

According to what the “Our Government” platform reported, the Ministers of Finance, Khaled Al-Mabrouk, the Ministers of Economy and Trade, Muhammad Al-Hawaij, the Minister of Local Government, Badr Al-Din Al-Toumi, and the Governor of the Central Bank of Libya, Al-Siddiq Al-Kabir, participated in the signing ceremony of the agreement.

The State of Libya was represented in signing the agreement by the Libyan institutions concerned with the economic empowerment program in the country, led by the Central Bank of Libya, the Ministry of Local Government and the Rural Bank, the Credit Guarantee Fund, the National Program to Support Small and Medium Enterprises, the Financial Facilities Fund, the American Chemonix Foundation, and the Experts Foundation. France, the regional office of the United Nations Development Program in Libya, and on the opposite side the Islamic Development Bank.

The fund aims to finance micro, small and medium enterprises through the economic empowerment mechanism in Libya, with support from the Islamic Development Bank. After its launch, it will contribute effectively to achieving the required level of support for the role of the private sector in the national economy, and achieving stability and sustainability within a framework that includes priority economic and social sectors. in the country.
