The agreement was signed during a meeting held under the chairmanship of the Head of Government, Aziz Akhannouch, in the presence of the Minister of National Education, Preschool and Sports, Chakib Benmoussa, the Minister of Economic Inclusion, Small Business, Employment and Skills, Younes Sekkouri, and the Minister Delegate to the Minister of Economy and Finance, in charge of the Budget, Fouzi Lekjaa, in addition to representatives of the Moroccan Labor Union (UMT), the General Union of Workers of Morocco (UGTM), the Democratic Confederation of Labor (CDT) and the Democratic Labor Federation (FDT).

In a statement to the press, Mr. Benmoussa assured that “this agreement provides solutions to many problems concerning the increase in salaries of 1,500 dirhams per month for all civil servants in the sector”, just like many other categorical issues raised for several years also resolved thanks to this agreement.

The Minister stressed that this agreement represents “a very important step in that it will mainly contribute to fostering a positive school climate in the sector, and thus allow the resumption of schooling, meet the expectations of families and also preserve school time for students”, expressing the hope that this agreement will open up broad horizons in favor of accelerating the reform of the education system.

He also stressed the importance of mobilizing all stakeholders, teachers and administrative staff, who play a positive role in supporting the reform.
