DECRYPTION – Officially, economists are still counting on growth that is certainly hampered but positive for the end of the year and the beginning of 2024.
This autumn, gray clouds are accumulating over the French economy. Beyond questions of changes in productivity, the rebound in unemployment actually reflects a slowdown in activity, which had until now surprisingly resisted the tightening of financing conditions and geopolitical turbulence. Officially, economists are still counting on growth that is certainly hampered but positive for the end of the year and the beginning of 2024. INSEE is thus advancing a projection of GDP growth in the third and fourth quarter of + 0.1% and + 0.2% respectively.
