When Sik-K (30, Kwon Min-sik) became known as a rapper in his 30s who confessed to drug use, he said, “It was due to delirium after surgery.”
Sik-K’s legal representative, Sedam Law Firm, said on the 29th, “No drug substances such as philopon, which is currently being mentioned in the media, were detected in the urine sample collected by the client at Seoul Yongsan Police Station.”
According to his legal representative, Sik-K was hospitalized and underwent surgery from January 15th to 18th to treat a shoulder rotator cuff injury suffered while serving in the military. During this process, he administered psychotropic drugs such as propofol and lidocaine, and other general anesthetics. From the time of surgery until discharge, he received painkillers containing tramadol and other ingredients to relieve pain, and sleeping pills for sleep disorders.
However, even after being discharged from the hospital, he continued to have trouble sleeping, and on the morning of the 19th, he showed signs of delirium. He left home and told a police officer that he had taken drugs and that he wanted to turn himself in. “Therefore, from the time I was discharged on the afternoon of January 18th until the time I appeared at the police station on the morning of January 19th, I was physically unable to administer drugs,” he said, drawing a line at drug use.
On the 18th, Yongsan Police Station in Seoul sent Sik-K without detention on charges of violating the Narcotics Control Act. At around 8:40 a.m. on January 19, Sik-K confessed to a police officer working near the Seoul Regional Veterans Affairs Office in Yongsan-gu, Seoul that he had taken drugs, asking, “Is this a police station?” It is reported that the police officer took Sik-K, who was speaking gibberish, to a nearby precinct for protection.
Sik-K continued to actively promote albums. Last February, he released the album ‘3=1’ with rappers Gam Ha-on and Rillermalz, and participated in the featuring of ‘Fall in Love’, a song included in Kim Ha-on’s album released last month. She also actively promoted it on her personal social media accounts. He was also scheduled to go on stage at the ‘Hip Hop Playa Festival 2024’ to be held at Nanji Hangang Park on the 4th of next month.
