Silver veil, scepters stolen from AIADMK office

CHENNAI: Ex-minister CV Shanmugam has alleged that expensive gifts such as silver vel and sceptres, which were souvenirs of Jayalalithaa, have disappeared in AIADMK chief Alu Walakam.

“AIADMK General Committee meeting was held on 11th of this month in Chennai Vanagaram. During the riot, important gifts and expensive items from the second floor of this office went missing. The iron cupboard in the office was broken and the souvenirs kept in it disappeared. “All the missing items were given as souvenirs to late Chief Minister Jayalalithaa,” CV Shanmugam told reporters.

Meanwhile, the High Court allowed the office, which had been ‘sealed’ due to riots, to be opened and ordered the keys of the head office to be handed over to Edappadi Palaniswami immediately.

Accordingly, the ‘seal’ of the AIADMK office was broken and opened yesterday under the leadership of District Collector and District Collector. Then, it was found that the items were missing. It is said that Edappadi Palaniswami has been informed about this and further action will be taken.

OPS Appeal

Chennai: Madras High Court ordered to hand over the key of AIADMK head office to EPS. This is a celebration for the EPS side and a blow for the OPS side. OPS is going to appeal against this in the Supreme Court. “The single judge has no power to decide about the party office. Therefore, an appeal will be filed against the verdict,” said OPS litigator Thirumaran.
