ITALY – Silvio Berlusconi, hospitalized in intensive care since Wednesday April 5 in Milan, suffers from leukemia, report the Reuters press agency and the daily The Corriere della Sera this Thursday, April 6.

Silvio Berlusconi, 86, was treated in a cardiac surgery unit at San Raffaele hospital following respiratory problems, a source close to him told AFP. This establishment, located in the suburbs of the Lombard capital, is one of the most prestigious in Italy.

“He had a calm night, his conditions are stable”said Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani, very close to Silvio Berlusconi, this Thursday morning in an interview with Rai Uno, without however mentioning the diagnosis of leukemia.

Council President Giorgia Meloni on Wednesday sent her wishes for a speedy recovery to Silvio Berlusconi, head of Forza Italia, a member of the coalition that brought the far-right leader to the helm of the country.
