Thrissur: A non-bailable case has been filed against the family members of the Popular Front leader, who is in Viyyur High Security Jail, who handed over the SIM card hidden in a religious book. His wife, son and brother visited Popular Front leader TS Zainuddin and gave him the SIM card hidden in the Quran.
The family members who came to Viyur high security jail to meet TS Zainuddin, who was arrested by NIA from Idukki Peruvanthanam in connection with the banning of the Popular Front, tried to smuggle the SIM by hiding it in a Quran. The incident happened on the last 31st. His wife Nadira, son Muhammad Yaseen and brother Muhammad Nasr came to meet Zainuddin at around eleven o’clock in the morning. The three returned after giving the Quran to the jail security staff to give to Zainuddin. The SIM card was hidden in this Quran.
The SIM card was found inside the Quran during the inspection conducted by the security personnel. The SIM exchange took place on 31st of last month. The next day, the police started an investigation. On the complaint of the jail superintendent, the Viyur police filed a case against him under the non-bailable section. The police informed that the accused will be taken into custody after checking the SIM address. The SIM card is handed over to Cyber Cell to trace the owner of the SIM card and to trace the phone calls. Record the arrest of the accused even after checking the cyber cell. Since Zainuddin is an accused in the NIA case, the information has also been handed over to the NIA.
