On the stage of the Azerbaijan State Academic Philharmonic named after Muslim Magomayev, a concert was held dedicated to the work of the People’s Artist of Azerbaijan, composer Nariman Mamedov (1928 – 2015), Day.Az reports.
At the evening, the instrumental composition of the Azerbaijan State Song and Dance Ensemble named after Fikret Amirov (artistic director – People’s Artist of Azerbaijan Agaverdi Pashayev, musical director – Mahir Ordubadi) performed.
The soloists of the program are honored artists Gulistan Aliyeva, Ekhtiram Huseynov, Sevindzh Saryeva, as well as singers Ravana Gurbanova, Sarkhan Bunyadzade, Nurlan Azizbeyli, Vafa Vezirova, Nurlana Abdullayeva, Kyamran Shyakyarov, Murad Lachin.
The works of Nariman Mamedov were performed at the concert. The soloists performed the works very sincerely and sincerely. Familiar and favorite compositions were greeted by the audience with thunderous applause.
It should be noted that Nariman Mamedov made a significant contribution to the promotion of national mugam, folk song and dance melodies.
The composer is the author of the ballet “Umai”, as well as the musical comedies “One of Six”, “Mamedali Goes to the Resort”, “A Girl Hurries to a Date”, which were written together with Tofig Bakikhanov.
He also wrote more than fifty classical works for soloists, choirs, folk orchestras and symphony orchestras, romances, and music for dramatic performances.
Nariman Mamedov is the author of articles and a number of books on the topic of Azerbaijani musical folklore.
