Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah signed an agreement with 3 companies for the supply of solar systems, while addressing the ceremony, he said that two lakh houses of Sindh will be given solar systems, three companies are working on this system, all I welcome the participants of the companies, the Sindh Solar Energy Project is going to start with the financial support of the World Bank, ECNIC has approved this agreement at a cost of 27 billion 40 million rupees, the World Bank has provided 100 million dollars for this project. will give.
He further said that the actual cost of a system is 55 thousand rupees which will be provided to the beneficiaries after 80% subsidy on payment of only 6 thousand rupees. 6,000 will be provided under the annual development program of the Department of Energy.
Sindh Chief Minister said that the program was started in 2020 but the amount of subsidy was 40% while the poor families were unable to pay 60% of the expenses, only 322 systems were sold, now the amount of subsidy has increased to 80% with the support of the World Bank. Granted, the project was further delayed due to catastrophic floods in 2022 and the Covid-19 crisis.
Murad Ali Shah said that the cheapest electricity is being provided from Thar, 400 MW electricity will be generated in the first phase, we want to provide cheap electricity to the people, the electricity crisis is high at this time, cheap electricity to the people from Green Power Plant. will provide, all government buildings will be transferred to solar system, 34 government buildings have been transferred to solar, want all government buildings to benefit from solar energy.

Addressing the ceremony, Nasir Hussain Shah said that a challan of Rs. A database management system has been developed through a web portal for holder cooperation and transparency in the program process, SHS systems will be distributed only to needy households.
He further said that independent verification agent will be appointed in this regard, consumer awareness program will be implemented for transparency of distribution process so that all stakeholders and beneficiaries can get information.
What will be included in the package?
Solar home systems will consist of 80 to 100 watt solar plate, 180 watt i.e. eighteen Ah battery, a fan, three LED bulbs and mobile charging facility.
It should be noted that according to the announcement, the Sindh government has started a project to provide home solar systems to poor households in 30 districts across Sindh including Karachi, at a nominal payment of Rs. 6,000 to 2 lakh households. Solar system will be provided, 50 thousand systems will reach Karachi for distribution by the end of October.
